2023 Ice Lolly Run!

A community focused event, St Albans Half Marathon aims to raise money for local charities and organisations as well as put on a great day out for all the family.

Those looking for a challenge can take on the scenic Half Marathon or Walking Half, which takes you on a challenging but rewarding route through the country lanes of St Albans.
Our 5K is open to everyone over 11 and takes you on a route around Verulamium Park. You’ll still experience the great atmosphere we are famous for and help to support local charities and organisations!

With a route around the stunning Verulamium Park, the 1.5 Mile Fun Run is a great way to get the kids active at the start of summer! Children aged 8 and over can run it alone, but those 7 years and under must run with an adult. Our marshals will cheer you on and entertain you with their fancy dress the whole way round, and there's even a free ice lolly waiting for you at the finish line!
The How and Why
Every year we volunteer our parents to marshal at one of the events. Usually the 5K. Our school receives £300 to do this so it is well worth the effort and time...and it's super fun! Cheering people on in the sun!

We also set up a stall for refreshments we can sell to others on the day.

Why Run?
In 2022 we missed out by 2 people to not win the school with the most signs ups!! Can we win this year? With this race right on our doorstep it would be great if we can win the most sign ups for the races. Any race counts! DON'T FORGET TO PUT ABBEY SCHOOL DOWN WHEN YOU SIGN UP!
